"I have been a working artist since 1974. My images come primarily from inner experience, sometimes from dreams, but more often from a sorting and sifting of the people, places and happenings of my own daily journey. I paint what touches my heart, what I need to save and ponder. The catching of these images and the honoring of the moments they represent is my way of connecting to other people and to the mysteries. Three years ago I returned to this region where I grew up, after living for nearly twenty years in Seattle, Washington. I moved back here to be close to my family and that has been a great joy to me. I have been delighted to find such an active arts community here and to be able to take part in it by meeting other artists and having opportunities to show my work. I have illustrated two children's books, one published in 1994 and the second to be published in 1998." |
